  • Fields:

    • Info for if you need to change a field for practices, scrimmages and/or games.  As you know, we share the fields with other groups and we need to coordinate all our activities with the Parks Department.

    • Please contact the club Scheduler, Jim Witkowski (Jim Witkoswki  or 335-3647) to arrange practices or game schedules.

    • For games you will also need to do contact our Referee Assignor, Jim Witkowski  or 335-3647) so that the referees can be rescheduled to accommodate your change.

  • Lightning

    • The official policy is listed on FYSA's website but here is a copy of the  pertinent passages..."The welfare and safety of all members of our soccer family is the first concern of all of us. There can be no exception to this...If the park or field does not have a detection system, FYSA requires that all participants observe the “30/30 rule” in regards to lightning. If lightning is seen and thunder is heard within 30 seconds, then the match must be suspended immediately and all participants must seek appropriate shelter (not under trees) until such time as no strikes are observed with thunder within 30 seconds for a period of 30 minutes. No one should be allowed back onto the fields until this time has expired.

While the referee is the party who should suspend the match—coaches and administrators are also responsible to exercise proper judgment. If a referee fails to observe the above 30/30 rule, we are still to suspend the match immediately. There will be no sanction against any coach/administrator who removes team(s) from the field of play for the above. A report to the sanctioning body may be required.

What is proper shelter in the event the games are suspended? This may mean back to your cars. Many fields have pavilions and shelters that may not offer adequate protection. When in doubt, be safe. Remove everyone to proper shelter."

Florida is the lightning capital of the world. We all must do whatever is necessary to insure the safety of our players and supporters.

For more information on this policy, follow this link to the FYSA web site.

Recreation League News

  • Fall Registration Dates Set

    • The dates for the 2007-08 Fall season are Saturday, August 18, 10am-2pm; Tuesday, August 28, 2007 6-8pm; Thursday, August 30, 2007, 6-8pm; Wednesday, September 5, 2007, 6-8pm; Saturday, September 8, 10am-2pm. We are actively working on an online registration program and as last year, we will accept mail in registrations. The sign up forms will be posted as soon as the fees are set. Keep checking back for more info.

  • Sponsors Needed

    • We still need team and league sponsors for the upcoming season. If you know of someone who would like to be a sponsor, please contract our Sponsorship Coordinator, Jerry Goebel.

    • Our new recreation division sponsorship program has been revised. If you interested in sponsoring a team or any aspect of our club, please click here for the latest info.

  • Scores Coordinator

    •  All scores from all games must be submitted to the Club's score coordinator. The scores can be reported using the menu item to the left labeled "Report Score" emailed to Mike Willis, or called in to Mike at 334-0148. Scores must be reported the Tuesday following the game. Failure to do so may result in forfeits. Please include your division and team number when submitting scores.

  • Game Times:

    • U-10 age group and above. Because these teams are playing against teams from other clubs in the area, you need to call the opposing team's coach and confirm your game's time and location prior to arriving at the field. It is best to try to confirm as early in the week as possible, so changes can be made if necessary.

  • End of Season Tournaments:

    • A rec player must be on the team roster for 80% of the season in order to be eligible to play in the end of season tournament.

  • Team Evaluations:

    • All recreation teams will be evaluated at the season mid-point to see if any one team should really be a competitive team.  If any team is "killing" the competition during the season, they will be offered a choice of playing in the competitive year end tournament. They will not be allowed to play in the recreation tournament. If that teams decides to play in the competitive tournament, they will have to participate with their team as rostered at that point. No guest players allowed.
